It's a little bit more than I thought it would be to be honest. The guy I use is half the price with disc provided and its also done on a frame by frame telecine machine. I was willing to pay a little but more for your service as a one stop shop but its slightly out of my price range at the moment. Will it be case of supply and demand and maybe your price will be lowered in future?

Link me to the guy you use. Does he clean your film before processing? Does he re-splice any old splices? Can you dictate the frame rate? What unit is he using? Can you choose the resolution? What files are they output to... what codec? Burning to a disc isn't necessarily great depending on file size either because of compression.

Hi Kevin, Sorry for the delay. Here's the link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cine-Film-To-DVD-TRANSFER-SERVICE-Super-8-Standard-8mm-/160431005232?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item255a6ede30 I am not questioning quality however, not everyone that comes to you is a film maker. I use super 8 for family films and holidays so I dont really need all the bells and whistles. All i want is, my film transfered to dvd (or usb). My suggestion would be to offer a stripped down service for such things? I hope i havent offended you, i just thought as the super 8 market is such a small market and i have been such a regular customer of yours, spending a few hundred pounds with you so far, that you would like my feedback a someone who would potentially take up your service.

I won't use that guy in Cheshire again - last year sent him 8 films for dvd, it took AGES and he didn't keep me informed at all about the progress - then he lost my films so I never got them back (didn't return them back by tracked mail), tho' luckily he'd made a copy and sent me the dvd, but even then one of the 8 films wasn't mine......showed little interest when I complained! Won't get fooled again, as they say.

Aldrin, I tested the Cheshire water many moons ago as well but never went back for similar reasons. Lianne, no offence taken at all I value the input. However I cannot really offer a stripped down service because no matter how I approach the transfer of a customers film I'll still have to go through the exact same process. It's not like a Tobin system where you just let it run without any real consideration to specifics. I need to go through the same workflow, configuring the hardware and software each time (with or without the customer providing the bell and whistle information). Actually if the customer didn't provide the information it would make my life a little more difficult anyway. I do think it's a good idea though, but perhaps not for this system because there is a lot more going on. Plus there is plenty of run of the mill telecine services out there people can use already if thats what you're after. We don't mind you using those at all. As long as people are using film, thats the key. Being a specialist reveral 8mm service we really need our equipment to be a little better than that though. All the best. Kevin
