A few of you didn't quite get your films in to me on time this week and I couldn't wait any longer on account of breaching the 4 week turnaround which I try my very best to stick to. Have no fear however because another batch of colour is quickly mounting up. Intake updates are now moving to Mondays so stay tuned for that. Thanks everyone. Kevin

36 out of 36 films are in so I'll be developing colour over the next week. 5 out of 18 has come in for the B&W so a ways to go yet with the monochrome stylings. Hope you're all having a good weekend.

16mm Processing Services ReturnĀ

13/2/2014

Our 16mm processing service never really went away to tell you the truth. We've been developing 16mm via special order since it stopped for various customers. The reason we had to stop 16mm processing in general in the first place was because it just took way to long to get enough in to process the stuff. Now however we're only sell our 16mm processing services in threes... That is to say we will process x3 100ft rolls as one order for £79.99. So you get 300ft of film processed pretty cheap! Please note we can only do 100ft lengths because thats the length our lomo tank takes. We hope this system will keep us all relatively happy because firstly you guys still have affordable 16mm processing and secondly we wont have to deal with complaints about slow turnaround (it really did get frustrating last year). Anyway, now we can just develop the order as soon as it comes in!

3 Years Young

11/2/2014

On the 6th of February we were officially open for three years! In that time we have gone from selling 8mm camera's to becoming a fully fledged 8mm reversal lab which develops and digitally scans 8mm film. The materialization of the lab has been a slow and steady process, one which we hope continues this year with our move into negative processing.

We would just like to thank all the lovely people that have utilized our services over the past three years. Without you we're pretty sure we wouldn't have made it this far and we're definitely sure the 8mm medium would be a lot worse off (especially in the UK)! The wonderful plethora of 8mm examples hosted online over the last few years has been a humble revolution in itself. To you home-movie makers and budding artists that continue to shoot on 8mm we thank you!

Hello everyone. Sorry for the delay on the intake update, I was hoping after the weekend we might have a few more films in so I could start processing on the colour. We're not quite there yet but we should definitely have enough to make up the 36 colour films needed for me to develop next week. We also have 2 out of the 18 films needed to develop a new batch of B&W. There were some really great B&W work last week so please keep the B&W films coming as well! Hope you guys had a great weekend.

Megatank 2 - Stage 1 - Please Help

1/2/2014

During the winter slow down and the frightening sales dip I've kept my head down optimistically working hard on the production of the 2nd megatank. Here are some photographs of the finished adapters for it.

The next step will be to get the actual shell of the tank made. I really cannot emphasis how much this 2nd megatank will help speed up turnaround and keep processing costs down over the next few years. The only way I can keep my processing prices fixed in the face of rising costs is to make the work load more efficient. I've had to step off the gas on this project because sales haven't been great throughout January but hopefully with a little help from you guys things will pick up in February.

I'm attempting to keep processing prices at £11.99 for the next  year (at least) to help people keep using the 8mm format. I implore Gauge Film's 250+ facebook followers to buy and shoot some film throughout February so we can keep investing in this second tank. I'm hoping to get enough funds in to have it completed before we hit the next tax year. I know it's cold and dreary weather wise but it'll be totally worth it to help keep processing prices fixed until 2015.
