B&W Needs to Go!

24/8/2013

Morning everyone, you've all probably noticed that I'm  out of colour reversal. Unfortunately I wont be able to buy in any more colour stock until I shift some B&W. In total I still have around 40 B&W Super 8 carts I need to shift before I can raise the cash for another order from Wittner. I did invest quite a lot in various B&W reversal stocks but it doesn't seem to be selling very well. Anyway I'm hoping you guys and girls will snap them up before the 6th of September (when I go away on holiday) so I can place another order from Wittner. I wont purchase such a large amount of B&W next time as it seems you guys mostly want to work with colour. Obviously I want to sell what you guys want to use. If you could try some B&W out in the meantime that would really help me out however. Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Store Closed - 6th until 20th of September -

Hi everyone. Just giving you a heads up I'll be on holiday and the shop will be closed for two weeks from the 6th until the 20th of September. Before I go away I'm processing 16 B&W films and a batch of 36 colour. That will literally take me up until the 6th. You can still feel free to post film back and make orders just be aware I wont be able to post anything out, catalogue or answer messages over this two week period. Hopefully by the time I return I'll have another 36 colour films waiting to process and if I'm really lucky some B&W also.

E-6 Volume Update for Megatanks

19/8/2013

Well, even though I just finished a batch of x36 E-6 colour films on Wednesday with the new megatanks it seems after a stock intake check another x36 colour films have already arrived. This is very encouraging (if somewhat scary) for the future of the lab. This week I'm developing 16mm and Super 8 B&W because it's long overdue. As soon as I've got down those I'll be cracking on with colour yet again. B&W and Colour processing will both be well and truly up to date very soon.

I'd like to thank Stephen and Dave for getting the new tanks fabricated so fast and Richard from Nano Lab for his perpetual support and advice. Without these three folks I'd be in a pickle of developing madness right now.

A Change of 8mm Processing Pace

I've been developing with the new megatanks this week and it's going great so far. I'm finally going to get on top of the colour reversal situation. It feels like I've been behind all year but come Sunday night 36 films will be developed and things will be well and truly back on track. I must emphasis that the only thing that will slow down turnaround for colour reversal in future is low volume so I do hope you folks keep sending in the films. In order to process colour now I'll need 30-36 films so please don't slow down whatever you do! At the end of each week I'll put up a post here specifying how many films are in. Hopefully we can keep the turnaround down and the flow of films steady by using this transparent method. For you B&W users the quantity I need in order to process is still only 7-8 films.
