I finished the last batch of developing for the year yesterday. I'll be putting my feet up until January 1st now and it's very unlikely I'll do any developing until then. The eBay shop will remain open over Christmas and we'll still take orders and post items out asap. I don't really mind wrapping stuff up and posting stuff off over the holiday so feel free to place orders. Thanks for a great year and I'll see you on the other side in 2013! Merry Christmas and happy New Year! And yes Die Hard is a Christmas film.
Well, it was good whilst it lasted but 100D is finished. I'll be selling off the final 50-60 S8 carts I have in the fridge as process paid jobs over January so get them whilst you can. It's not all bad news however, we'll be looking into Wittner's 50D colour reversal film after the xmas holiday and should have some in the store come February 2013. 50D is quite a bit more expensive than 100D but we hope our film+process+telecine deals will make it a little more attractive and accessible to film makers on a budget. More good news as well! We'll begin to start selling Orwo UN 54 B&W reversal in Standard 8 in February. It's a great 125asa (reversal speed) stock. We'll be running combined film+process+telecine deals for all Super 8 and Regular 8 film by February. Unfortunately the telecine machine has still not arrived from moviestuff so it looks like it won't be up and running until Feb now.
Lately I realized I rarely exceed the £2..20 (2nd) or £2.70 (1st) postage rates when selling multiple film cartridges. This is because most people don't buy over 1 or 2 carts at a time. So I decided to knock off the additional postage for all carts and either knock off or reduce the extra postage for all additional process paid cartridges. So now if you're buying S8 or 16mm film you can save a bit of money on the postage. I guess every little helps.
The christmas rush has well and truly begun. I just want to say thanks to all who supported the B&W service this past month, we hit the 4 week turnaround and I'll be developing B&W next week. Keep it up! I'm developing colour today so keep an eye out in the flog section for updates on dispatch times tomorrow. The telecine computer is coming along great as well. I'll be setting up the Raid-0 next week for the video capture, then all I have to do is sit back and wait for the telecine machine to arrive. Fingers crossed it'll be soon so I can configure the system and have the HD telecine unit all up and running for the 1st of January.
