I'm developing colour at the moment and the current batch of 36 will be developed and scanned before the end of this week. We already have another 13 films in towards the next batch of 36. B&W has not budged from last week. Still stuck on 7 out of 18. Come on B&W filmmakers we need you to shoot some film!

I recently received back the first B&W film I had made in ages. It was shot on the Kodak 7363 film. I was really pleased with it. If you have never tried B&W, I can thoroughly recommend it. Alex.

Posted back my first ever colour film last week and I am SO excited to see it! Hopefully I managed to capture a little bit worth keeping... All tips welcome, I'm shooting on a Braun Nizo.

Hi Leanne. I hope your film is a success. Braun Nizo cameras are very highly regarded so you should get good results. I found some good advice in basic books about film and video making. Charity shops and eBay are good sources of out of print books on filming, but don't pay too much as there are plenty available if you shop around. Good luck with your film,
Alex.

Thanks Alex, I'll have a look for some books. If you can recommend any I should look for that would be great, but I enjoy scouring charity shops for these things anyway. I might also try some black and white film on your recommendation as well! Hope your footage is good when it comes back.

Hi Leanne, If you want to try some black and white I would firmly recommend the Kodak Tri-x film stock Kevin has for sale here. I've only run one vs many colour films but I found it was really versatile and it looks great! I really put it through it's paces shooting half in a low light live music venue and the other half in really really bright sunshine and it dealt with both really well. You may need to invest in some ND filters for bright sunny days though.
