Telecine (better late than never)

Well, finally the telecine unit has arrived. Hooray (it's been 4 months)! Now the real work can begin. I've sorted out the computer and the 0-Raid drive array and I'm putting the Blackmagic card through it's paces. I should have the Velocity-HD software ordered by the end of the day and hopefully it'll be compatible with Blackmagic's latest drivers. If not I'll have to retrograde to older drivers (keep your fingers crossed). You may be able to see the massive condenser lens at the top of the picture. I intend to do away with that and instead aim my HD camera right at the film gate with a macro lens fitted. Once it's all working and aligned it'll be transported to the lab for some good honest transfer work. Fingers crossed a reversal 8mm USB HD service will be up and running in March sometime and then other services will follow.
